EDM300 and Ablate300 machines work in a cell to produce ceramic coated components: EDM300 performs electrical discharge drilling and 3D milling on uncoated parts. After this, a thermal barrier coating (TBC) is applied, which covers the pre-drilled holes. Then, the Ablate300's vision system locates and analyzes these existing holes to precisely remove the TBC from the cooling holes using laser ablation, reopening them. It can also ablate 3D shapes.
